By Senior Airman Tristan Biese 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

The Air Force Services Activities hosted the End of Summer Music Festival featuring both X Ambassadors and We The Kings at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Sep. 1, 2018.

More than 2,100 Department of Defense card holders, service members and their families attended the event. Attendees were also invited to meet and take photos with band members.

“It’s great to be back here in Newport News,” said Sam Harris, X Ambassadors lead vocalist. “This is where we got our start and we would not be here if it weren’t for you [service members]."

The AFSVA, is headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Their mission is to deliver programs and activities to build resiliency in service members and their families.

“These events are important for our service members and their families, because it builds morale, it brings the community together and it shows that they have not been forgotten,” said Ninoshka Basantes, 633rd Force Support Squadron community activity director. “Our service members work hard day in and out; giving them a concert, at no cost, shows how appreciative we are of them.”

The day after the event, the End of Summer Music Festival, along with both of the bands, traveled to Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, to perform again.
