71st FTS trains over Atlantic Ocean

The 71st FTS, also referred to as the Ironmen, is one of three flying squadrons assigned to the 1st Fighter Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. The squadron's mission is to provide professional adversary air support to enhance the 1st Fighter Wing's F-22 combat capability.

The 71st FTS flies the T-38 Talon, the world's first supersonic trainer. The two-seat jet has a top speed of 858 miles per hour. The T-38 first flew in 1959 and continues to be used to this day.
