New menu soars at Eaglewood Grille

By by Joseph Gangemi 633rd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

The Grille at the Eaglewood Golf Course debuted its new menu at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Jan. 23, 2017.

The Eaglewood Grille is one of many non-appropriated funded facilities receiving an overhaul to improve its daily operations.

“The new menu is healthier and much easier to prepare because of the fresh ingredients that are used,” said Ladonna Brown, Langley Club food service specialist. “You will no longer see any deep fried items on the menu.”

The new menu is geared toward healthier options and will now offer items such as appetizers, soups and salads, deli sandwiches and burgers.

“Preparing food starts with the fundamentals, which includes improving food quality by sourcing local fresh ingredients and the discipline not to cut corners during preparation,” said James Belle, Langley Club director of food and beverage.

According to Belle, one of the many objectives is to ensure that each facility will have its own unique brand.

Each of the different NAF facilities at JBLE will feature a signature dish and a healthy-heart item that can only be obtained at that specific location.

“It’s about giving each restaurant an identity that’s not dependent on the activity that it’s embedded in,” said Belle. “For each facility to be successful it must be treated as a stand-alone restaurant.”

The winter hours for the Grille are Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In addition to dining-in and take-out, the Grille also offers catering and private rooms for events.

The Grille will also offer breakfast starting in late spring.
Changes at the Langley Marina Marker 27, Langley Lanes and The Langley Club will take place in the coming months.
